Sedona

We lightened the load in Tucson. We took 2 suitcases and 2 shipping boxes to Fed X. They will beat us to Raleigh. If they never arrive? Quite honestly? I don't care - I am getting totally sick of my stuff. Except for my Mac and my iPhone, you can have the rest of it. I don't care if I never see it again. When I have to personally haul it around, I become a very disloyal owner of goods. I am really glad I am not the male member of this party and therefore responsible for lugging the luggage. I tell you now - I would abandon it.

We've made the trek to Tucson a number of times. While we were there it still felt like we could get back in the car and head home as usual after our visit. Leaving Tucson and not heading west made it feel real. We no longer have a home in California.

Sorry... I needed the reminder. Continuing on...

The plan is:
Sedona for a couple days, rest and relax, have a couple nice meals, tour the galleries, ease into this relocation thing. It's breathtakingly beautiful here. We're staying at a lovely little B&B, boutique hotel kind of place on the edge of town. It only has 12 rooms and 4 occupants, including us.

Because it's August. It's Arizona. It was 114 degrees yesterday. Only insane people or people looking for an excuse to delay their relocation trip to NC would be lingering here. This morning at our lovely B&B (gourmet breakfast included) the other 2 occupants asked us where we were from. We looked at each other and started to stammer, then laugh. We couldn't produce a coherent answer. From the look on their faces I'm sure they thought we were a couple of slightly incompetent criminals who couldn't get their stories straight. On the lam, but staying at a nice B&B of course.

Tonight we had the patio and the star viewing platform (I am not making this up, they have one) all to ourselves. In such a dark area the stars are amazing, we saw several shooting stars. I was pleased to have the opportunity to make some wishes.

Sedona is renown for energy vortexes and new age activities. I would love to have been able to tell you about my past life regression experience, but unfortunately the skeptic in my party hooted me down so I don't have one to report. Please send him your complaints, it would have made such a good addition to the adventure chronicles.
