We're not really in the gutter, I just threw that in to amuse myself. In printing terminology the gutter is the space between 2 facing pages. And that's where we are... on the map. but it's really Oklahoma.
We got lucky, the husband spotted a brand new Hampton Inn off the interstate and we got a lovely clean suite because all the other rooms were taken. We had dinner at a local steak house (1 of 3 dining choices) and it was delicious. And cheap. Verrry cheap by California standards. We get a little giddy when stuff is cheap AND good.
Yesterday was Santa Fe. The most remarkable thing about Santa Fe was the temperature. A reasonable 88 degrees. Fit for humans. It was so wonderful. That made us a little giddy too. The minute we drove out of Santa Fe the temp zipped right back up to triple digits.
We've traveled through 4 states, 4 more to go. Tomorrow we drive across the gutter.

This all looks sooo familiar, and yet somehow strangely backwards. Stay cool when you can. We're watchin' ya.
LOL!
Glad to see you made it home safe & sound.
