This recipe is a study in contradiction. It's from Martha Stewart and it's totally simple. However, for the first and probably only time, I made it more complicated than Martha ... I thought the pecans needed toasting first. But that's just me.
Something magical happens when honey hits a juicy, ripe pear - a whole new flavor that is sooo good. And even if you toast the pecans - it's very easy.
And BTW, the photo is a ridiculous amount of nuts, the finished result is actually about half that.
1 red or green Bartlett pear
1/4 cup chopped pecans
2 tablespoons honey
Directions
1. Cut pear in half lengthwise and scoop out seeds with a melon baller or spoon.
2. In a small bowl, mix together chopped nuts and honey. Mound on the pear halves.
