We made this little lemon blueberry number, accurately promoted as The Grace Kelly of Cupcakes.
Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm.
And then we made the world's most decadent, shamefully delicious chocolate cupcake from this Ina Gartner recipe which Tracey promptly labeled The George Clooney of Cupcakes. We frosted it with this recipe, which put it in the to die for category.
Then Tracey went home. And left me in the house with 45 cupcakes.
By myself.
All alone. Just me and the cupcakes.
22 of them were The George Clooney of Cupcakes.
No fair.
--ENSUING EMAIL DIALOGUE--
Toog: I made the mistake of opening the lid.
The smell of chocolate wafted over me.
I swooned.
I want you to have proof I tried to be strong.
Toog: I set myself up. It's beyond human endurance.
Toog: Save me before it's too late!
Tab: DLOL
Too late. I felt the earth shift.
You had me going with the second picture.... but I KNOW you didn't eat THAT many cuppies.... did you?!? Toog needs an intervention!
You know, if I ever murdered someone and ended up on death row, I think I'd want my last meal to be those chocolate cupcakes... and I'd eat until I couldn't swallow another bite. Then they'd have to postpone executing me because they probably wouldn't be able to drag me out of the bathroom!
Thanks for the icing recipe - no wonder it's good! Geez, so much cream.... yikes! That's definitely a special occasion topping.
I'm sending the cupcakes recipes to my sister.
Toog: Do you think I'm joking??
Tab: Hang on... I'll be right down to help you finish them off. No one else needs to know there was dessert!
Toog: On my way to Harris Teeter's bakery, maybe there's a chance I can still salvage my reputation.
Tab: Now I know you're joking - those are CLEAN cupcake liners.
Toog: I licked them
Tab: That's TOO funny! This needs to go on your blog!!!
Toog: Who knew cupcakes could be so hilarious?!?! I haven't laughed like this in ages. Anyone listening would think there's a crazy woman in this house.
